Bin stores sell Amazon customer returns, overstock, and liquidation merchandise directly to shoppers. Items are tossed into large bins and priced by the piece - not by what the item is. Prices follow a weekly declining schedule, so the longer inventory sits, the cheaper it gets. The fun is in the treasure hunt.

Most stores restock on Friday. Arriving early on restock day gives you first access to the freshest inventory.

Prices at bin stores in Mt Prospect currently range from $8 to $8 per item. Prices drop each day of the week, so earlier in the week means higher prices but better selection.

Most bin stores in Mt Prospect accept cash and cards. Some charge a small card processing fee, so having cash handy is always a good idea.

You can find virtually anything - electronics, toys, clothing, kitchen appliances, tools, beauty products, and home goods. Because inventory comes from Amazon returns and retailer overstock, the selection changes every week. High-value finds like Apple products, Dyson vacuums, and Milwaukee tools are common but go fast on restock day.

Pay-by-the-pound bin stores (also called "pound stores" or liquidation pound outlets) price items by weight instead of per piece. You fill a bag or box, weigh it, and pay by the pound - typically $1–$3/lb. Check each store's listing on BinFever to see whether they offer flat-rate bins, pound pricing, or both.
